The event at the Governor's office courtyard was organised by a non governmental international humanitarian organisation for displaced persons known as Action Internationale pour le Secours aux Sinistrés (AISS), with the vision to assist victims of disasters and armed conflicts.

The organisation headed by the General Coordinator, came to the North West Region to handover gifts to some Internally displaced persons, who have been affected by the current crisis in the North-West and South-West Regions for close to 4 years now.

Before AISS Internationale significantly handed over the gift of mattresses, blankets, farm tools, bags of cement, sheets of zinc, bags of rice, cartons of soap and many other basic materials to the internally displaced persons, an inter-religious service led by Christian and Muslim religious leaders, during which they all prayed and cried for the return of peace and normalcy in the North-West and South-West Regions.

Reading from prophet Isaiah 9:2 one of the religious leaders Rev. Tam said that there is time for everything and for sure light is at the end of the tunel, despite the darkness they have been going through, he used an example from the Bible stating that Jesus Himself at a certain period was displaced to Egypt because of a conflict.

An overview of the AISS humanitarian aid to IDPs in the NWR

The man of God further said that the fighting in Cameroon is not between our brothers and sisters, neither is it against the English and French speaking Cameroonians, but it's a spiritual fight against the some wicked people who need human blood to satisfy their evil desires. He challenged all who have contributed in the killings directly or indirectly in the North-West  and  South-West Regions to repent and ask God for forgiveness.

He made it clear that a lot of people joint the fight because of the pain inflicted on them at the initial stage of the crisis, to these group of people, the spirit leader made them to understand that vengence is for the Lord and that they shouldn't take it into their hands and that Jesus is the only solution to all their worries.

The religious leaders equally prayed and blessed  the gifts brought by AISS Internationale to the IDPs.

The Governor of the North-West Region Adolphe Lele Lafrique who chaired the ceremony praised the effort of the promoter of the NGO for such a timely gesture towards some affected persons in the Region. The Father of the Region used the occasion to call on other humanitarian organisations to copy the example of AISS Internationale so as to give some degree of comfort to the Internally Displaced Persons. Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique appreciated the religious leaders for their continuous prayers for peace and normalcy to return in the North-West Region while calling on those still in the bushes, to laid down their arms and be reinstated into the society through the DDR Committee put in place by the Head of State H.E Paul Biya as a hand raised uppon them to facilitate their social reinsertion.

The beneficiaries of the gifts from AISS Internationale on their part, while thanking that NGO promoted by M. Tallanji Godlove for coming to their aid, pleaded that such a gesture be extended so that the other Internally Displaced Persons could equally benefit from it.

A myriad of songs of peace, worship and praise greased the the ceremony that ended not just hitch free, but on a note of high hope and satisfaction for the beneficiaries.
